Introduction

Faced with much lower than expected sales for 1995 and 1996, Lincoln treated the Mark VIII to a comprehensive freshening for 1997. Both the exterior and interior were revised, now incorporating features that used to be optional as standard equipment. Mechanical revisions to the engine bay helped the car achieve lower interior db ratings and reduce costs.
